How RESONATICA works

Answers about storage, formats, plans, translation and the main features. Questions missing here are answered in the forum.

Storage and file formats

Every account has 5 GB of storage for free. You can see how much you use under “My account” → “Files”. All files count except failed uploads; deleted files free the space at once.

  • Images: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, up to 15 MB each. Stored as WebP with a preview.
  • Videos: MP4, MOV (iPhone), WebM, MKV, up to 1 GB each (Plus 4 GB, Pro 10 GB). Stored as H.264 in 720p (Plus and Pro 1080p), with a preview frame.
  • Audio: MP3, M4A/AAC, OGG, WAV, FLAC, up to 100 MB, stored as AAC.
  • Files such as build plans or data sheets: almost any format up to 200 MB (Plus 1 GB, Pro 4 GB), unchanged, download only. Programs and scripts are rejected.
  • iPhone photos in HEIC: please export them as JPEG first (Settings → Camera → Formats → “Most Compatible”).

Privacy of uploads

For images, videos and audio RESONATICA removes all metadata, including GPS location, camera and capture time, and then deletes the original. Processing takes seconds for images and a few minutes for long videos. Who may see a file depends on where it is attached: profile pictures and public projects are visible to everyone, attachments in private groups only to their members. Links to files are valid for a few minutes each.

Plans: free, Plus, Pro

The free account can do everything. Plus and Pro give more storage, larger videos in 1080p, more search alerts and extras; see “Plans”. They can be booked once payment processing starts; prices will be announced first. Paid plans never improve placement in lists or search.

Adding projects

Only the project name, short description, topic and “What it is and what it is not” are required. That last field is required on purpose: one sentence saying what the build is and is not keeps the platform free of healing claims. Texts with such claims are reviewed before publication. Stage, licence, repository and group are optional. Afterwards you add progress, measurements and setbacks to the build log; followers of your project are notified.

Automatic translation

Everyone reads what members write in their own language: projects, build logs, listings, group posts, comments and the forum are translated into German, English, Russian and French. Translated texts are marked; one click shows the original. You always see your own texts in the original. Private messages are not translated.

Language and appearance

When logged in, the language of your account applies to pages and e-mails. Otherwise the language you chose in the menu or at the bottom of the page applies, and without a choice your browser language. You set the appearance (system, light, dark) in the account menu; “system” follows your device setting.

Groups

Anyone can read public groups and any logged-in member can join. Private groups can only be reached through an invite link. Paid groups for courses and workshop knowledge follow with payment processing. New posts appear without reloading.

Marketplace

RESONATICA only acts as an intermediary: members agree on buying, swapping and giving away directly with each other, including payment and shipping. The default order is newest first, optionally by price; there is no paid placement. Purchases from private sellers carry no right of withdrawal. Commercial sellers show their details on every listing.

Support

Members can show a support box on their profile. Visitors pick one of the suggestions (e.g. 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 €) or their own amount from 1 to 1,000 €. It is not a donation with a receipt but a voluntary payment to the member. Payments start with payment processing.

Account and security

After registering you confirm your e-mail address via the link in the mail; only then can you publish. You can log in with a password or without one via a login link by e-mail. Forgot your password? “Forgot password” below the login sends you a link valid for one hour.
